The Serrano Language Animated Series is a collaboration between Media Artist Isaac Webb, Culture Bearer Ernest Siva and Linguist Mark Levinson.

The original animation features a young student named Mark, 10, and his teacher Ernie who shares important moral lessons by telling him traditional Serrano stories and songs.

Additional episodes include the Dragonfly lullaby and Little Bear adventures. Through these stories and songs we will learn Serrano terms for family relationships, greetings, plants, animals, numbers, and colors to name a few.

The project is undertaken for language preservation and education as well as general cultural sharing with the wider community.

Ernest Siva (Cahuilla/Serrano)

Mr. Siva is one of the last native speakers of Serrano and is carrying on the mission of his late aunt Dorothy Ramon to save and share its wisdom with the world.
